Burkhardt Joins PhyMed as VP of Business Development

NASHVILLE, TN — Jay Burkhardt, a healthcare executive with extensive experience in strategic planning and corporate development, has been named vice president of business development at PhyMed Healthcare Group, a physician-led and owned leader of anesthesia and pain management services. Burkhardt will be responsible for executing the company’s aggressive growth initiatives, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions.

Most recently, Burkhardt served in a strategic leadership role with McKesson Specialty Health and The US Oncology Network, where he led strategic planning for a division that both partners with and invests in independent specialty practices. Previously, he served in several other corporate development and strategy roles at McKesson where his responsibilities included sourcing, negotiating and executing transactions.

Burkhardt earned a master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and an MBA from Oklahoma State University. He has also completed the M&A; program at The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. He earned his B.A. from DePauw University.
